This Fragile Peace

Some love is a fragile peace.
Walking-on-eggshells love.
Don’t-upset-the-apple-cart love.
Not rose-blossom love.
Not rose-thorn love.
Fragile-peace love is
a-solution-of-3-tbsp-detergent-
to-1-gallon-water-to-control-aphids
love.
Damn this fragile-peace love.
I crave thunder-and-lighting love.
And after the rain
washes away the aphid spray,
I want to walk along the river
holding your hand.
