November Palette

Gray and brown,
dull dark green, no sheen,
a touch of rust
and new white snow.

Bald eagle pair
on a snag by Tula Creek
replicate the colors of the landscape —
wet-bark brown with snow on top.

Climbing the hill to Wakefield,
the snow is heavier,
the trees frosted, the fields solid white,
the color fades to shades of gray.

I love this poem… & all the pictures you painted with it… & those gray November skies.
    Thanks.
