(On) The Planet Where We Are Lovers

On the planet where we
are lovers, the air is sweeter
and we feel not weightless
but just a little lighter,
a little less freighted with
the daily burden of gravity.

May we never lose this
sensation, the faint tingle
inside as our organs flutter
every infinitesimal moment
and again and again and again
with each step forward,

hand in hand, fingers twined,
toward familiar purple hills.

This poem is just enough away from normal to say what it says. Nice.
