Red eye, bloodshot, peeking past the cool frazzy horizon. Now hiding behind heiferclouds, I see your goldenrays and wonder of the wind on my forelimbs where self ends and world resumes.

O Lord give me strength to resist your blinding light that shines through eyelids
the sun cuts a low arc through the pines even my lonely heart burns dimmer and casts a longer shadow across the frozen earth
